Meet the Transition Nayland Committee

Will Hitchcock is a farmers son who grew up in Suffolk and lives in Nayland with his wife and 2 daughters. Will graduated in engineering, but for the past 13 years has worked in IT. He is a keen private pilot, gardener and lover of the great outdoors. Will's house has solar hot water and a solar PV system. He commutes to work on an electric scooter
Steve Maguire is a former soldier. Steve lives in Nayland with his wife and two children and is a member of the executive committee on the community council. Steve is also a member of the Nayland Royal British Legion.
Adrian Heaven is a wine merchant. Particular interest in local food and biodiversity
Julie Wooding is a Geography teacher with a keen interest in vegetable growing and the great outdoors!
Emma Bishton is married with 2 children, parent representative on the Nayland Primary School's Eco-Team. Emma has lived in the village for 10 years and works in public health in the NHS.
Michaela Woollatt Michaela is a proud mum of 2 boys who attend Nayland Primary School and lives in the neighbouring parish of Leavenheath. Having spent several years working in an IT company that specialised in environmentally friendly IT disposal and WEEE recycling, Michaela is now a full time mum currently working towards a BSc in Environmental Science.
Hector Bunting is a local businessman and landlord of the Nayland Anchor Inn. Hector has lived in the Parish all his life and is married with 2 children

Patron of Transition Nayland

Professor Jules Pretty OBE, FRSA, FSB. is Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Sustainability and Resources) at the University of Essex. He is a resident of Nayland, where he lives with his family. Jules has written many books about sustainability of agriculture and food systems.
