The Earths climate is changing and the impacts are already being felt by biodiversity and wildlife habitats across the planet. Every part of our daily life is affected by our natural biodiversity, we are fortunate enough to live in a rich and beautiful countryside, but the health of our natural ecosystems is always threatened.
Its important that we all learn to live in greater harmony with our natural environment and conserve and protect what is vital to our existence.
Biodiversity measures the numbers of species that live in an area, e.g. how many different species of plant, animal, fungi as well has how many distinct ecosystems or communities of each occur.
As part of Transition Nayland we would like to encourage greater protection, creation and restoration of our natural ecosystems. We aim to work with existing groups and form projects of our own to promote the value of what weve got, avoid deterioration, and to improve and enhance our landscapes wherever possible.
